As I was just looking down the forthcoming releases list over on
Play247's site it occurred to me that there are an awful lot of the
region 1 titles being RCE encoded.

Will the studios ever get it in to their thick heads that this sort of
tactic is totally pointless as there'll always be a way around it.

So to anyone buying a modded player i'd say that "RCE friendly" is no
longer a luxury but an essential.

Play put "RCE" on anything they are not sure about just to cover their backsides.

As far as I know only Columbia and Warner are using RCE.

I find it annoying that they continue to use it as most players don't have a problem with it so it's relatively pointless - just happens that my Toshiba does have a problem with it :(
not a major problem, as you say there are workarounds for it.

As for Play - I think that they just say that the Discs are RCE just in case, not all the ones labelled as such are actually RCE.

It's best to ignore www.play.com 's description (they're as bad as Amazon).

Quite agree. Not that my player has trouble with RCE discs anyway! :)

A greedy corporation will not admit it's failure!
In any case I do not have any RCE title in my collection, is there any worthy title including RCE?
