New Car Alarm - Toad or Clifford

Having got myself a new car, (convertible) really need to try and protect it. I have always gone with Clifford alarms in the past, but a techie friend has suggested that Toad might be a better alarm manufacturer now adays - anyone got any ideas?

Needs to be Thatcham Cat 1, and ideally so I can have microwave sensors and possibly a remote start module.

I think remote engine start will void any system of its CAT1 approval. Clifford has all the toys and gadgets but Toad seem to be more reliable, but its always down to how good the install is.
