Well it's supposedly out in March (16th???).

Personally I can't wait. :D Is there anywhere that has any more information on these sets.
Any info on extras? What extras would you like to see?

How much are they likely to retail for as I would like to collect the whole series?

Oh yeah, I sure am.
That's, after all, is where Star Trek begins for me, as the original series is too old and primitive so I just disregard it.
Bring on Voyager, my fav of all 3, eh, 4, oh of all 5 series.

Not too sure if I want to see the 1st series of TNG again unless Paramount pulls off some mega extras.

Come on, it's been a good couple of months since it was shown on TV for the 80the time since it came out......why wouldn't you want to buy it?

And for me, Next Gen is where Star Trek ended; never could stand DS9 or Voyager. They're just cash-ins, weak dull & plodding.

I'll have to look at it this way: the faster they release TNG the sooner we will get Deep Space Nine - the only Trek show worth watching.
I never understood what people saw in TNG. The characters were absolutely one-dimensional, the stories were (with a couple of exeptions) boring and uninteresting and in seven years there was no character development at all.
DS9 on the other hand had everything: interesting, three-dimensional characters, gripping story arcs and amazing stand-alone episodes and in one season more character developement than all other Trek shows combined.
Although you can say one good thing about TNG - it was lightyears better than Voyager.

So - to answer your question: yes, I'm looking forward to the release of TNG.
The sooner that crap gets released the sooner DS9 will come.

Well said SvenL, but I'm sure you'll take a lot of flak for that.....
Best thing in ST:TNG - The Borg.
Best Episode(s): Best Of Both Worlds Parts 1 & 2 and that one with the 2nd Enterprise coming out of the temporal rift, putting the Federation at war with the Klingons.

If you all only want Enterprise or DS9, please be sure to buy TNG and Voyager too, because if you don't you're never gona see your fav part of the franchise. It's going to be a good 3 years approximately before they get to DS9. No sales = they stop producing them and we're all gona be screwed. :(

Along with the Back To The Future box set, Star Trek TNG is a must have purchase for me. Hopefully Voyager won't be too long in arriving either. I could never really get into DS9, although a few of the episodes I have seen are quite good. Hopefully Paramount will pack them with extras and keep the price at a reasonable mark.

Yep DS9 is my favourite too lots of decent storys especially the continuing Dominion one which makes it worth watching!

Saying that i like TNG and VOY as well so will be buying it! TOS is just laughable (except the tribbles one - love that one)

But then again Babylon 5 is what i REALLY want to see..

I just assume that enough people will buy TNG - I wouldn't worry too much about sales. If they started with Voyager then I would be worried.
Your calculation is not really correct - on the German DVD website www.areadvd.de someone from Paramount Germany answers questions on their messageboard and he said they will start to release boxsets from the other shows before they are finished with the TNG boxsets.
And since DS9 is (at least chronologically) just after TNG we might be seeing some boxsets before 2002 is over.

I love 'em all, TNG, DS9 and Voyager. TNG is an essential purchase come March :)

Also, im with Bapapapa in this one, Janeway may not be the best looking but she is DAMN sexy in that uniform. For the record; Tores is the fittest in the Voyager crew :)

damn right. ds9 is the best trek ever. 4 year plus story arc on the dominion made the show. before that tho i have to be honest and say that ds9 sucked! although not as bad as voyager during the kazon years.

i think i might buy tng if i have the cash, but i am not really that bothered except for the best of both worlds, and the last one with picard going through time (that was cool)

ds9 i'll buy them all. it's worth having even if the first 2 and a half seasons weren't that good. season 6 was the best. great wars at the start, and the best character show of all - sisko and garak in 'pale moonlight'.

voyager - i'll buy season 4-6. maybe i'll get some of the 7th but doubt it from what i remember when it aired on sky. there is no way i'll buy the kazon eps though and the rest of series 1-3 except for scorpion part 1 at the end of S3 which (with scorpion p2) was the best voyager eps that i can remember seeing.
