Idiots Basic Networking Query..!

I have two Dell 4600 PCs running Windows XP which I want to link up so that my bf can use my printer without hi-jacking my PC all the time.... is there an idiots guide somewhere to doing this? Have had a trawl but started off thinking it was simple then got progressively more confused!!! Would also like to share internet connection ( both PC's are connected to phone sockets ) Do I need anything complicated or is it just a case of linking them via RJ45 to RJ45 crossover cable and running XP's network wizard? :shrug:

ANy problems lots of peeps here can help! :)

goodo - teach me not to do a google on networking ( ended up in complicated territory!! ) Don't suppose anyone could take a look at Maplin (http://www.tkqlhce.com/click-582776-10297371) for me and tell me if they sell one... need to bump up an order to £35 but bit confused!!! ( can't spot one that simply says RJ45 crossover... :suspect: )

Try these:

Grey - Search for A35AW - they are the ones marked X-Over
Orange - Search for A18BU - they are the ones marked X-UTP
