Hi,

thinking of getting a decent pair of headphones for my PC. As now my Pc is in the living room with the TV and my g/f keeps complaining to turn the volume down

I've heard the Medusa and Zalmans are very good ones to go for.... but which would be better ....

I've got a Audigy so guess it be ok to connect up.. BUT also want to use speakers when she's not home, is this possible ?? or be a LOt of hassle unplugging and plugging in all the time ??

and are they comfortable, bare in mind i also wear glasses....

Thanks

well the medusa and zalman 5.1 will involve unplugging 3 wires each time, so that might be a hassle.

but apart from that no idea i'm afraid.

I use the Medusa set which are quite good - haven't experienced the Zalmans.

Anyway, on my set up [Logitech 4.1 system] I don't need to disconnect. The headphones have a separate amp which you can turn on or off and when I want to use the phones on their own I just turn off at the Logitech control unit.

No faffing about with connecting/disconnecting cables. I got mine from Play.com (http://tracker.tradedoubler.com/click?p=20047&a=60823&g=606309) :)

Thanks..

so the medusa does come with a special amp thing to no need to keep removing wires ?

but cjb110 says otherwise ??

also are they comfortable after a few hours... looks heavy :(

Yep, have a look here for the various bits http://www.walibe.com/reviews-47.html

They are velvet lined, so yes are pretty comfortable despite being considerably large :)

EDIT

From another thread - Cheap here at only £30! http://uk.special.reserve.co.uk/q_GG6406_headphones__speedl.html?af=ur021204

Medusa 5.1

Make sure you've got a decent sound card to do them justice though. If you're planning to use the microphone for voice comms you'll need a sound card that has a separate mic input.

Most onboard sound chips don't have a separate mic input, so in those cases you can't have 5.1 sound and use the microphone at the same time.
