Having just got my copy, which I'm happy to say, that in a film like this, I am happy for ANY kind of extra footage(apart from Hearts of Darkness),
wondered if that the original R2 dvd had the extra of " Destruction of the Kurtz compound", why this has not been included in Redux.
It seems fair to me that there are two possible outcomes why this scene should happen.
SPOILER........................
Sheen asks (Sorry forgot name) to call in the airstrike if he is not back by certain time. OK , he has his head cut off and dropped onto Sheens body. But did he get the call in first?
Or as in the original ending Sheen grabs surferboy and they egg off in the boat. So did Sheen call it in then?
I ask because (ok) it's only good explosions to nice music, but it seems to be a better ending to me!
Any comments.
Also reading the double page on Sunday Times mag last week,
Canal Plus asked Coppola for an extended version for the dvd market. So why no commentary, on perhaps what would be one of the most essential commentaries going.
What do you good people think?
