Looking for a good region free DVD player

I'm looking for a good region free rce friendly dvd player for my brothers wedding present, probably around the 250-300 price range. Anyone able to recomend me a good player and where to get it from?

Malata N996 is the best, has all the features and chips and converters you might need, check for full specs here:

They stopped selling them though, I've already got mine half a year ago, never had any problems, well, it refused to play only ONE disc out of 100s tried from regions 1,2,3,4, the LE of Heathers, don't know why, just doesnt load, must be a bad disc and not a player's fault.

Don't know where you can buy it now though.

Drel, have a look at the LG4170 in the Bargain Forum (http://www.thedvdforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=31776) mate. I know it's only £100 but it's an excellent machine. Multi-region and RCE compatible. You could always buy them £100 worth of DVDs or gift coupons. Seriously, this is a fab machine and is very easy to use.

www.dabs.com is down at the mo though so I can't check to see if they have any more in stock.

Yeah but does it have Pal to NTSC and NTSC to pal converter? Looks like it doesn't.
Also no DD/DTS decoders and doesn't play CDR-VCD, CDR-Audio, CDR-MP3, etc :(

Actually, NOTHING in the world will ever compare to that Malata (it has different names in Europe and Japan), it has everything including 5 video filters and decoders and all the screen moving and resizing and zooming you might ever want!

forum,website,multi region,plays mp3's
