Hi

This is the first post for me so i hope you will bear with me.
I purchased a Scan SC2000 with firmware 2.36 this is not a video friendly machine so i purchased the Macbuster from Ringos.co.uk
and it works so that i can watch a dvd through the video with no ill effects, perfect viewing but when i back up the dvd and replay the tape i get blue screen every 15 seconds or so.
Has anyone any ideas as to what mght be wrong as the advert for the macbuster states that perfect backup can be made with this Scart lead.

Thanks Jeff

You should be able to firmware upgrade to a video friendly version of the firmware by burning a CD. If you do some searching you should be able to find a user group that's dedicated to the sc2000. I had one that was video friendly but wasn't software upgradeable but your firmware should be flashable. Just hope you don't have to deal with scans less than atrocious customer services.

i think its to do with your tv, i have the same problem with my DVD player.
I bought my DVD player while over in new york in march 99 and it will play R1 movies fine, but when playing region 2, it flickers blue like you said. I called a place to have it chipped, thinking it was faulty but they told me it was because of my tv being too old :(

i tried it downstairs on my folks tv and it would play them perfect as it was recently bought. try urs on another tv or something, see if it works.

Is this happening with all dvd's or just R1 NTSC discs?

Hi

The TV is a new Toshiba 28" wide screen job so i don,t think its the tv thats at fault,The only DVD,s i have are pal i think they are region 2.As to upgrading the firmware it has the latest the only way is to downgrade back to 2.33vf and as that invalidates your warranty its not something i would do as has been said Scan after sales is not good.

Thanx for the replies keep them coming if anyone else has any ideas.

Here (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Scan2000) if you don`t have it already.
There is a 2.36 video friendly firmware, but do check it`s compatible with your machine.I`ve used it for months and had no problem.
