View Full Version : Which hdd recorder.
I need a new form of recorder for beneath my tv.BUT, I've got a Pioneer NVDS55 system which I'm more than happy with taking up one scart socket, I don't want to pay £30+ per month to Mr.Murdoch for SKY+ for channels I won't use and it's got to be easy to program or my wife will never let me hear the end of it. A built in freeview tuner and a second tuner would be nice, as would a good size hard disc.
Any ideas anyone?
The combi Freeview/hard drive recorders from Humax seem popular. I have one on order myself. ;)
They come in two disc sizes - 40Gb and 80Gb - but the thing that sold me on one is that you can upgrade it by just litterly swapping for a larger drive! No messing about!
As a result I have bought the 40Gb version [now a discontinued model? :?: ] and intend dropping a 120Gb Seagate drive in.
I have bought mine from Currys (http://tracker.tradedoubler.com/pan/TrackerServlet?p=1469&a=60823&g=13819) £137.99 with free delivery model number PVR8000T
EDIT
Not a dual tuner model, but there are rumours that they will bring one out fairly soon. In my experience [with Tivo] two tuners are not really necessary anyway, as invariably, you will always be watching prerecorded stuff.
