Well, it's actually a Marantz and I just got it.
My old Pioneer had a nice little pen type thing that was perfect (have no idea where I could get one though).
Any ideas or any other suggestions??

Try the styli from psion/palm pilot type devices. Should be avaliable from anyone who sells accessories for such devices.

How the hell do you use a normal remote, then?

Maybe its been hijacked
Jon, you don't have to step out of the house for the stylus, any decent pc/pda supplier should stock them.
Palm Tec (http://www.palmtec.com/system/index.html) are pretty decent.

I think you really should try the remote first though! I've never had a problem with pressing the wrong button and my buttons are pretty small in some places.

Grow one of your fingernails and keep it well shaped.
Seriously, I find it more reliable when I tap the screen with my nail with the palm of my hand facing upwards.
There was a frequent poster on remote central who had drilled a hole in his Pronto in which he stored a stylus in - a simple search should uncover his posts, and I think he posted a few photos too.

thanks for your help everyone... even the sarcasm (always appreciated).
I used to have a Pioneer touchscreen that had a space for a stylus, I just got so used to having that and not using my finger... I would shape a nail, but I bite them quite badly so thats a no go.
I think i'll get a stylus just in case...

The cheaper option would be to blunt a cocktail stick to use that !;)
I bought 3 stylii(?) from Maplin for 1.99.
The official Palm ones are 7.99!!!
After a couple of beers I always end up using my greasy thumb again though!! :D
I have a CCF file with quite large buttons, if you like i'll email it to you?
