Walking with beasts - Sky digital interactive, what did people think?
I thought it was good, but a good example of what u can do with DVD tech. Prob help the DVD release sales of the series no end!
NB
If you haven't seen it yet - the 1st episode, its on a loop for a week.
Select text and choose it from the menu (Sky Digital)

Thought it was utterly superb - watched the show "straight" the first time round and then played with the interactive jobbies. This is the first time I've seen a worthy use of interactive TV. The documentaries and commentaries really add a wealth of background to the show.
Oddly enough, I discovered the second worthy use of interactive TV last night when I switched to the MTV awards - a choice of 4 commentaries including ones by Stuart Hall and Ricky Gervaise. Top stuff.

I too watched the episode 'normally' then I went onto the interactive stuff for another hour! - Watched again with the (far better) more informative commentary and the 'Facts' on and then watched all the features that run in different windows... Brilliant!
One major problem, however, is that while the show itself is is widescreen the interactive stuff is is 4:3... Not too good on a widescreen TV...:(

Excellent - thats what Interactive Digital TV is all about. Forget the pretenders in Cable and ITV Digital - if you want the goods delivered SKY is the only choice. A lot of people may hate em but they have the platform that CAN deliver the goods..
Had another play with it today actually.
You can expect more of this in the future. Its only going to get even better...

I thought it was great .But was just getting through the last of the interactive stuff when it was on it's third run and accidentally pressed "channel up", losing it. There's a warning to you all!
I missed it when it was first shown, then i was reading this thread unaware that it was being constantly repeated, turned on BBC1 and fired her up and there is was. And very good it was aswell. I was most impressed by the speed of everything, definately an improvement.
think the plaudits should be praisimg the BBC not Sky
So the BBC are using license payers money to provide Sky with an exclusive service that can't be viewed on Free to Air terrestrial (seems like the same thing they are doing with BBCNews24 extra coverage for Sky Digital Only) ?
i havn't tried all this interactive stuff on sky yet but am fed up with that silly red dot in the corner of the screen watching sky one etc.if i push red and go back to the program will it disappear?

Just press the "Backup" button on your remote - the red dot will disappear. This works on any interactive channel.

I think I am not. I was referring to WWTBAM Interactive being available on the Sky Platform as opposed to solely on ITV Digital.
So it is you that are mistaken. :D
"you can't on ITV Digital YET" .......So what the hell does this mean the mistaken token is passed over
