Philips VCD? wot no menus, chapter stops?

I just got a vcd thru the post, orig, by Philips - Annie Hall (woody allen).

I have tried it on win dvd, it plays but no menus or chapter stops - is this cos you only get these options on a the Philips CD-I player?

What about on my dvd player at home - will it be the same? its VCD compatible.

If so then getting any other VCDs is not a high priority at all.

I dont (or didn't) mind gettting some VCDs cos they are cheap and good quality - but without chapter options? Nah

Well only SOME VCDs have menus, and most "chapter stops" are just 10 min intervals. Menus also consist of just one still photo with a couple of options selectable by numbers on your remote, nothing as elaborate as DVD.
Hey, even LDs never had/have any menus!
