Don't know for sure about this but while watching telly last night I saw an ad for Currys selling a 32" Panasonic W/S (looked like a Tau flatscreen to me) for £599. Sounds like a bargain, might be worth checking out?

If your not bothered about having whooshy sound but a nice tube then i can recommend the Philips 6006. I just got this, although it only has Nicam Stereo all my sound gets pumped through a Dolby/DTS amp anyway so wasn't bothered.

Empire do it for £559 - info (http://www.empiredirect.co.uk/productdetailsnew.asp?modelcode=PHI-32PW6006C)

Anyone know if eather of these will support Svideo on the scart? and if they're any good. Is it worth the extra for a totaly flat screen and or 100Hz?

I can't comment on the panny above but I am sure it is the same. The philips has support for both Scart and Svideo. As for 100hz, it's something, IMHO, that you need to see for yourself.

I looked at 100hz and wasn't overly impressed. I found they seemed to suffer from background distortion except the high end tellys (which I couldn't afford :(). If your on a tight budget then (say <£600) then I wouldn't recommend it personally.

I was looking at this model in currys last night, very nice it was too. Asked one of the assistants if the scarts were RGB, he just looked at me blanky and said "No, you just get the 2 normal scart sockets" http://thedvdforums.com/forums/images/icons/jpshakehead[1].gif

Details of model here (http://www.techtronics.com/uk/shop/862-panasonic-tx32dk1-crt-widescreen-tv.html)
