View Full Version : CD-WOW and Customs?
are they customs friendly? my OFAH boxset seems to be taking it's time arriving.
Simple answer - yes they are customs friendly :)

Well sort of. I mailed them only yesterday about this and got this reply;
"You should not have to pay any duty on items ordered from us, if you find
that you have been charged we would be happy to refund you the amount by
e-voucher."
So it looks like if you do have to pay import duty, they will only refund the money via an e-voucher and not cold hard cash.

Items over the £18 limit I find ship from customs friendly locations in Europe.
Certain R2 items are shipped from within the UK. For example the boxed Star Trek sets have been shipping from Middlesex. Perhaps it's because they can't source them cheap from outside the EU so they just go with regular UK sourced sets. They do get them far cheaper than anyone else though :thumbs:
Other expensive R2 and R1 items I've had ship from Douglas I think (Isle of Man).
Note that even R2 items would technically be subject to VAT/duty if they had shipped from HK, as they are entering the EU. I guess cd-wow get them shipped to Douglas and they ship from there?

i did ... NOTHING...
The last few items that i've bought from CD-Wow (http://tracker.tradedoubler.com/click?p=3128&a=60823&g=17349) have had the price covered up with a small silver strip on the packaging.

Your saying they are ignoring your e-mails?
I didn't think they would stoop that low. I still wouldn't give up until I got an answer off them though.
