Gladiator and Terminater 2 UE both contain impressive extras. So I would vote for either of them.

Is it me or are some of the DVDs mentioned not actually from this year? (T2, Fight Club, Gladiator) ;)

Anyway... I'd probably nominate Die Hard 5-star Collection.

Memento (on R1). Best film for ages. And the R2 disc might be the best disc of next year, too.

Shrek because of the sheer amount of effort that's gone into it. I was particularly pleased to see that the director's commentary was subtitled - I'm not deaf myself, but I know that I'd certainly be pleased to see that a studio hadn't assumed that I wasn't interested - I don't think I've seen any other subbed director's commentaries before, so bravo to Dreamworks for that.

Add to that, it's nice to have a P&S copy *and* a W/S copy - pleases everyone, even if I'd actually only be interested in the W/S version.

Apart from that, Python & The Holy Grail, I guess.
