Comments on the manufacturers appreciated if not the models.

Panasonic have the better reputation of the two.

Avoid Mitsubishi...
They got out of the TV business a few years back and sold the name to cheapo brand. The last i heard only Scottish Power stores stocked them (now Powerhouse).
I looked at a 32" model in their store and it had the most curved screen i have ever seen on a 32" widescreen.It was like looking in a goldfish bowl :D

I have rented a panny for the last 2 years but now just bought a philips only because I didn't like the new shape of the panny. The quality of it for the money tho is suberb. It had crisp picture, nice sound. If your not too bothered about the asthetics of the new pannys then I can highly recommend them.
