Doctor Zhivago 2 disc (anomaly?)

Just got Doctor Zhivago in the post this morning and from a quick look at the disks there is one two sided dual layered on one side and single layered on the other. And the second disk is a one sided single layered disk.

Why not just have two single sided dual layered DVDs?

Looks like an excellent release though :)

because of the length of the movie and for pic quality it is on 2 sides as are ben hur and lawrence of arabia these movies had a intermission anyway so i dont think it spoils any of them
