Panasonic 340 & R1 querry

Hi Folks,

2 quick questions from a newbie, if I may:

a) Anyone know anything about a Panasonic 340 ? .. any good (I assume its quite basic, though cheap & cheefull so Im hoping its ok)

b) Secondly, this machine has been set up for R1 & R2. Can you please tell me, if I try to play R1 on my TV & its not equiped for NTSC, will the picture be viewable, I've heard it will be in blakc & whilte, perhaps running picture also ?

... is there any form of decoder etc available to convert picture to Pal 625 lines ?

I assume you mean Pioneer DV340:)

b. Yes, as it outputs PAL60 for r1 discs, if you tell it to. So you should be ok.

... I was wondering why I'd not had many responses to my questions ... wrong manufacturer named, sorry :o

Are there hacks available for this model, to allow it to play R4 / all regions (this is Oz I think ?)
