View Full Version : Star Trek TMP - UK release date?

I've had the R2 Director's Edition of Star Trek TMP on pre order at Play for a while now and it was due to be released early-mid December (can't remember the exact date), but now it just shows as 'order taken' in my order history, as does the Wayne's World double set!
Has anyone heard what the UK R2 release date actually is for ST-TMP? If it has been put back a significant amount of time, then I will order the R1 for the time being.
I was hoping to collect all of the Trek movies on R2 as they are released in their Special Edition form, but I'm really curious about this Director's Edition and don't want to wait an age for it!
Anyone help out there?

According to Amazon it's been put back to March 2002.:(

Talking to a friend of mine in the trade today, and according to him, it has been changed to January. He said that the release date of Star Trek #2: The Wrath of Khan has been put back to December, the planned release of the original version of TMP has been scrapped and the "Special Edition" has been scheduled for the New Year. I'm not sure of the exact date. I can probably find out tomorrow and let you know.

Star Trek 2 TWK has a release date of 24/12 with some online sites, so it may be reasonable to suppose Star Trek TMP will be released end of January.

Although it's frustrating to have to wait for the R2 Special Edition, it would be doubly annoying if Paramount had released a standard version first, so let's be nice to them :)

Actually I'd have been quite happy with a standard release first as I would then have both versions of the film. While I like the special edition there are a couple of bits I find distracting and I'd like to be able to watch the original aswell.
