Hi Guys,

Looking for some advice. My wife turned on my 28" W/S TV today - got a picture / sound etc as normal followed by a burning smell and loss of picture. After turning it off for a while on power up it has normal sound but no picture as such - the screen is a light gray colour and occasionally pulses as if turning off and on again. there is also a really thin white line scrolling diagnolly lower left to upper right (almost as if the vertical hold had gone and it was tumbling). Any ideas - if its the tube then at 5 years old I may as well bin it and look for another (in which case any suggestions for a replacement cirac £300 - £400 ?).

Cheers

Colin

Sounds (especially the pulsing) like the terminal fault my CRT TV developed a few years ago.

Fixable fault or in the bin time ?

I did - I wanted to clarify if he meant "terminal fault" as in a fault in a PCB mounted terminal block. I pretty much figure its gone now so Ive ordered a nice new Panasonic TX28DTX1C for £380 delivered.

Cheers anyway.
