The sub woofer remix just sends all the bass from the fronts and split-surrounds if using it Dolby digital or DTS mode, while all the extreme bass is still going to the 5 remaining channels, unlike if you where to set the all the channels to THX/small mode where the cut is 80Hz and all the extreme bass low end content will be then sent to the sub bass.

However the sub bass ReEQ can still be activated but I’m sure it reduces the signal by a few db.

So are you still running your Kenwood KRF-9050D THX select, as I am with a few special modifications, using all the pre-outputs and this as enabled my home cinema to be more flexible, now running Dolby centre back with the Kenwood KRF-9050D THX select as well as (Upper Center Channel) and soon I’ll be installing the (Sonic Whole Overhead Sound) for “STAR WARS” Episode 3 due this October 31st 2005…

But I like to upgrade the Kenwood KRF-9050D THX select, for a newer Kenwood or (Pioneer) with THX Dolby –EX and DTS-ES, DTS-ES is the added bonus, and I’ll still be keeping the Kenwood KRF-9050D THX select….

Thanks for that ..... 4 years later

I upgraded to a Pioneer 814 about a year ago, as the remote control function packed up on the kenwood, cant tell much of a difference between the two tbh
