Thinking of buying this machine while they are still around. Would appreciate comments from anyone who has had this player. Have you had any problems? would you buy again ? Basically pro`s & con`s. I like this player because it has RGB loopthrough, component out, from all reports good picture quality and not bad CD replay either.
Thanks
Stuart
PS would also appreciate alternative suggestions

I had a look at buying one of these, but I've decided to wait until the DV-747A (http://members.tripod.co.uk/splobber/pics/dv747a2lrg.jpg) is released. :)

Richer sounds are advertising these at £379 unmodded and £429 multi-region (latest copy of What Hi-Fi), so a huge saving on the original RRP. I've got a 737 and the picture and sound are both top notch (including pretty good CD replay). If you were after a player which supports progressive scan via component outputs (if you've got a projector or a suitably equipped TV) it's a hell of a buy ... however, if you would prefer something which supports DVD-A, then one of the newer "A" models (not necessarily the 747A) would be a better bet. One thing I would say about Pioneers is that the layer change is pretty noticeable ... which was a disappointment for me.

I bought my 737 about 6 months ago for around £500, and it's been worth every penny.
The difference in picture quality from my toshiba 2109 was jaw dropping and I needed component out for my new tv. I've only had a problem with one dvd so far (out of 300 or so) and that was with Akira (which was pioneer release!).
All in all, brilliant, unless you want dvd-a of course.

Unless you find it cheap (for example, we sold these off for £400 M/R a couple of months back)then its ok, but its not worth more then £350-£400 M/R now as it was dropped 3 months back, and is a old machine, over a year old.
Newer Pioneers like the DV545 and DV646A actually outperform it:) Also, a Marantz DV4100OSE outperforms it in audio cd reply.
