NTSC 525 progressive scan vs pal

Can anyone tell me what the resolution from pal scart is and is it interlaced or progressive scan? Trying to decide between U.S. JVC XV-D721 dvd or EURO XV-D9000.

PAL Scart is currently interlaced.

Progressive PAL doesn't exist yet (they are still arguing over the standard).

If you are planning to play PAL discs on the US progressive player then most will only playback as interlaced PAL. A few players exist which convert the PAL linestructure to NTSC linestructure then output it as progressive NTSC, not sure how well this works but it loses resolution because of this.
