I am considering buying the Sony DVP-NS355 DVD Player but have one query which I would be grateful if any owner could reply to. I previously had a Grundig GDV 620HT bought some 3 years ago, but it now doesn't play any of the latest dvd releases and the picture freezes up, goes all blocky and pauses.
The Sony DVP-NS355 DVD Player does not come with a home cinema surround 6 speaker system, and the Grundig did. Can I plug the Grundig speakers into the Sony player the same way I did with Grundig ie. are there 6 speaker outlet connections?
Thanks for your time!

It doesn't have the connections you're looking for. It only has a coaxial input for dd5.1\dts.

Thanks for that jmdomain. Do you what dvds around the £200 mark would have facility for plugging in a home cinema system?
btw what does the sound on the sony dvp-ns355 like anyway? How would it compare with a 6 speaker home cinema system? Not very well? What would I have to buy as an add-on to improve the sound set up to "cinema" quality sound?
Thanks

If you're still wanting to use your Grundig speakers then the dvd player of choice to plug them into would be the Pioneer 575. You're looking for a player that does 6 channel out.
The onboard dd5.1\dts decoders on dvd players are becoming rarer as the decoders on home cinema amps are far better in terms of sound quality.
Connecting the dvd player via optical\coaxial to a dd5.1\dts amp will give you better sound quality rather than connecting the speakers to a dvd player.
This amp (http://www.empiredirect.co.uk/Content/Products/Details/index.asp?modelcode=SON-STRLV500&bhcp=1) is going very cheap.
