View Full Version : Aiwa XDD V370. Any good????
I am thinking of buying an Aiwa XDD V370
from Richer Sounds for £199.95.
What's the score with this machine....????
It has MP3 and multi region.....
Cheers
awesome plays ever thing u throw at it !!!!!!!!!
So how many people have bought an Awia 370 and had no problems?
Richer Sound in Reading have said they sell twenty a week and no returns. Is this True????
Any ideas?
Some unbiased advice- -
I have the Aiwa, i got in Jan 2001, at the end of the comet run. I used it to replace a wharfedale 750s (which i returned to tesco). The AIWA was alot better than the wharfedale for starters:
Plus:

It has a very good clear pic and good sound.

Has a simple to use, but very effective GUI

its easily made region free and handles RCE disks

it will play cd (all the usual cd program options), dvd, cdr, cdrw, vcd, mp3 (the mp3 feature is the best i have seen - uses windows type menus, you can program a track list).

Quiet, smooth operation.

Plays practically everything with only a very small amount of problem disks.
Negative:

not as forgiving as say a DVD-Rom for any scratched disks.

Bookmark facilty is limited, clears when you switch off player.

zoom is very gimmicky
The AIWA has the same inners as the LG 3350 (diff is this has an onboard 5.1 output and better bookmarking - but no vcd, only with a risky hack).
For more info go to these sites:
LG uncovered (http://www.lgdvd.co.uk/)
AIWA 370 site (http://www.choosefirst.co.uk/)
I would def. recommend the player!
I bought the Aiwa from richer sound's aswell.
Great machine but have just sold it and replaced it with the LG3350 cos of decoder.
Sold mine for £150 c/w3 year warranty which cost £20.

VCD's work fine on mine! Only used the simple access handse-hack for multi-region - what's the dodgy hack you're on about?
was on the www.lgdvd.co.uk site
anyway got my first vcd (orig) - mmm dvd is far better
:)
Thanks guys...
I have bought at last.
Good sound and Picture. Plays MP3 well but one disk that plays on the pc does not work on the 370.??? Disk crap anyway...
Funny that you can not search through the MP3 track... O well sounds good.
I like the remote and is easy to use.
Is there a way to jump faster through a vcd??? not important but just wondered.????
I have used the hack 314159 then 0
is there any others I should know about?
Thanks for your help.........

As the Aiwa 370 is still going strong i may put it on a website, i made a design ages ago, uses the GUI.
