Well I've been saving for ages and ages and had almost given up drinking to get a bit of cash to gether for my set up.

I've gone through varios reviews, tests and narowed it down to a few options, but would really apperaite any help and advice you may be able to offer.

My Main use will be for Music which is quite relient on Bass, I'am into Hip Hop and that sorta thing. Also needs to be good for my flicks though as i luv the sound of DTS!

My room is 4 meters Long (12 Ft?) by 3 Meters Wide (10 foot?)

First Choice:

Marantz SR4200 £299.99
MISSION CINEMA 72 PACKAGE BEECH £283.62

This seems quite good value for money, only thing is the Marantz is only 70w per channel, is this enough?

My second choice is this

Pioneer VSX859RDS Receiver £429.99
ELTAX SILVERDO 5 SPK PACK SILVER £109.30

I really like the look of this Reciver and has so many features, i also like the look of the Eltax Speakers, very slim and cheap. i heard them as a m8 has them, sound good for Films but lack a bit of Bass for music, would a Sub help this out? Also Eltex told me that the Main Loud Speakers are NOT SHIELDED? Althouhgh on the Richer Sounds Website it says they are?

i would really like this combination but have to stay under 600 Pounds as i have allready spend 760 on a a DVD Player and WS TV.

MISSION CINEMA 72 PACKAGE BEECH
Pioneer VSX859RDS Receiver

If anyone could offer any adive that would be great as i'am really stuck with what to order and what is right for my room. Cheers, Rizel

I'd go with the Marantz/Mission setup personally. Those Eltax speakers would be wasted on the Pioneer.

Thanks Bapapapa, i was thinking that, rather like putting a Impreza Engine in my Nova! :D

Go to HiFiStore (http://www.hifistore.co.uk) and buy the following:
Marantz SR4200 - £269.95
Tannoy MXAV3 - £319.95
or
Mission 73.1 - £344.95

Don't forget some decent speaker wire!

Deffo go for the Marantz and missions, You will get much better movie and music performance.

Remember 70 watts doesn't look much on paper but in real world terms it is plenty for any home set up.

Don't forget if sheer bass weight is what you hanker for, a sub like the Vibe alpha @ £300 or a power amp will sort this out. Just make sure you get the decent speakers in the first place.

Cheers, Brock

As you want the best for music, then the Maranzt is the one to go for, however if you can, spend an extra few quid on the SR5200, the extra money you spend makes an noticable improvement over the SR4200.

Although, the Pioneer will trounce either marantz for AV if you can live without PLII (and if you look in the bargain forums you`ll find it for £370).

Hope that helps

You won`t be disapointed with it, although no-ones got any gold ones currently (marantz have none) hence why most dealers are not advertising gold ones.

Hi Justin, i sent a e-mail to you guys at homecinema the other day and they said they did'nt have any Gold ones in as Marantz did'nt, so i was looking at hifistore.co.uk earlier today and they show they have some gold ones left but i don'nt how reliable there website will be.

If they don'nt have any Gold ones i'll get it from you guys as i'm really impressed with my Pioneer 545 i got of you on Monday. Anyway thanks to everyone for there advice once again. Rizel

No probs, I know we`re expecting some SR5200s tomorow, but I couldn`t tell you if theres any gold coming in, due to what Marantz are like currently:( Now if it had been the Pioneer VSX859RDS could have helped you at the same sort of price:)

Not to worry:)
