With the search function disabled I am sure this has been asked before but what is the picture like on a 4:3 telly when viewing a widescreen film ? does it just have to the black bars top and bottom or is it distorted in any way ? I have heard of dvd players having a zoom function (does the dv44 have this ?), so can you zoom in on the picture so it fills the screen....I am sure my questions are making the hardcore HC people wet their pants so I will stop their but any comments will be appreciated.

Square tellys showing WS films will have black bars top and bottom, some DVDs have bigger bars than others. It's how it should be shown and shouldn't be zoomed, stretched or otherwise.

Unless of course you buy the Pan & Scan version of a particular movie.
