Just got my pioneer DV-444 and wanted to highly recommend it.

- Great picture and sound
- Almost silent drive
- Excellent user interface
- Great MP3 playback
- Even VCD looks great
- It's really pretty too

Only negative comments

- Remote control could be better. Some buttons rather small
- It hasn't once offered to make the tea

This is a real quality piece of equipment.

I bought mine from homecinema/upgrade heaven (£190inc) and would like to highly recommend them to everyone. I ordered mine sunday 10pm and it arrived first thing tuesday morning. Automatic multi-region seems to work fine (region 6 NTSC plays fine), and manual selection is integrated into the setup menu.

Mark :)

I bought one from HCH and received it monday morning, but it was for a mate :( can't afford to upgrade my pioneer 525. Had a little play with it. Great looking player (got the silver one, but i personally prefer black AV stuff).

If you think the 444 remote is bad, you should see my 525 one, same size tiny buttons all round, lucky I have a cambridge audio learning one that i use.

Yep, I have one of these from upgrade heaven, very pleased with it. If I was to point out one failing it would be the layer change delay which is much more noticable than on my previous machine. Understand it's an issue on all Pioneer models.
