i'm getting slight bored of listening to by the way every time i run so i'm looking for some recommendations for new cds. the catch is they have to be at least an hour long (over 70 mins if possible) and they have to [mary whitehouse] have a good beat to them [/mary whitehouse].

not interested in dance music and something i can sing along to would be a bonus because running is dull :D

thanking you kindly *kiss*

What I listened to on the way to work this morning:-

Kasabian
Beastie Boys
Scissor Sisters
Goldfrapp
Stevie Wonder

All fit the bill for you quite well :)

Why do they have to be at least an hour long? Oh, I see, running. Um, Kasabian would do the trick. It's not quite dancy, but more a sort of, er, well, look here -

http://www.cdtimes.co.uk/content.php?contentid=1043

No idea how long it is, though.

EDIT I've had a look and it's 6 inches

I haven't got this but is it the 1000 Homo DJs Supernaut or another version?

It's similar but different to the 1000 Homo DJs version, it doesn't have some / all of the samples (a rocket countdown & lift off in the middle is missing) and I think the vocals sound different.
Wasn't there a rumoured version with Trent Reznor, this might be it, although don't hold me to that.

I'll give it another listen tonight and let you know my thoughts. ;)

10/10 for trying

Whoops, I must have skimmed the first post and posted what I wanted to post.

Actually, the Mylo album is more coffee table stuff quite like Moby 'Play' for the most part with 'wistful' atmospherics that make you sway.

Allegedly, it's always been Reznor: Jourgensen said he just warped his original vocals and lied that he'd resang it (to get around the lame TVT thing).

In that case, the version on Greatest Fits is a re-recording. Checking the liner notes has the copyright year down as 2001. Which is considerably later than the 1000 Homo DJ's version.

The Greatest Hits version is also half a minute longer clocking in at about 07:10. :dork:

Anyway, back on topic.

Howsabout Marilyn Mansons Greatest Hits package.

Maybe best not to sing along to The Beautiful People to loudly though. :suspect:

No idea what you already have, so this is a quick list for anyone looking to buy a few CDs for running purposes:

REM - New Adventures In Hi-Fi (64 minutes and as it's more of a straight "rock" album than most of their other work, it's good for running to) and Document (the reissue - which says IRS Years Vintage 1987 at the top - clocks in at 67 minutes, due to a plethora of extra tracks.) Obviously Automatic For The People is well worth picking up too (essential IMO) but whether most people would think it was good for running is another thing entirely.

Beck - Odelay (off hand, not sure about length, IIRC 14 tracks, though) and Midnight Vultures (similar, but not as good as Odelay but another CD with a "good beat"; however, Sea Change is Beck's best album, IMHO - not one for running to, though.)

Oasis - (What's The Story) Morning Glory? (if you don't already own a copy, buy it now) and Definitely Maybe.

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Californication (my favourite album of theirs).
