View Full Version : Hiding cable with laminate flooring
Hi all,
Any tips? Is there such a thing as hollow beading in which I can run the wires for anything from speaker cable to cabletv cable?

not that I've seen. but you used to be able to get skirting that had a removeable cover to hide cables in.

If you have white skirting, why not run plastic trunking along the bottom instead of wooden beading...not as crap as it sounds and has great flexibility for upgrades etc.
If you are intent on running cables under the laminate flooring and are using that fibre-board stuff underneath, you'll have to cut a channel for the cable as it will not 'sink in' and will give a noticable bulge in the flooring!
...had to take the entire floor back up to find this out!!
You should have a gap all the way around the floor... you can run cable in there ??
not that simple ?
