I just received this from Upgrade Heaven and have tried it with SW - Episode 1 and the sound is fantastic (connected to digitheatre 5.1).

I had no idea upgrading a DVD player could make so much difference to the sound. I thought all the processing was done by the 5.1 decoder.

I am comparing this to the sound I got from the PS2, as this was my DVD player before this one.

Anyway, thought I'd share that with you.

Just got mine today as well! Can'nt belive how good this machine is, plays everything i have thrown at it, the Audio is great, even the sound on MP3's is brilliant. Just gotta wait now for my martez reciver and Speakers to come! Rizel

Mikeb_78: how does everything else compare to the PS2's dvd? mainly the picture... and features. was that well worth the upgrade too?

I can't comment on the picture yet. It looks great, but I've only played one disc, so would be unfair to compare the PS2 to it yet.

Well worth the upgrade, as I was getting fed up with booting the PS2 up with the Region X disc just to get RGB and watch all regions. :)

I'll post when I've watched some more DVD's. Won't be until Friday now, as I'm working nights. :(

I've had mine for a few weeks now. Wonderful machine. Blows my old Wharfedale 750 away entirely.

Episode 1 is quite a work out but my favourite so far is playing the dragon's castle section of Shrek. The DTS is absolutely awesome and the picture is too.

Just need a widescreen TV in time for Fellowship of the Ring (which admitedly gives me until late next year) on DVD.
