The Dirty Harry Collection: Opinions/best region?

Hey all, I'm sorry to admit I haven't ever seen any of the 5 Dirty Harry films but would like to get a box set that's coming out on the 20th of November, in R1 anyway.
Since retailers get their stock prior to shelf date and ship out abroad early, maybe some of you have already got the box sets.
So how is the quality, and the movies themselves, and is there any difference between regions? Seems like it's being released everywhere at the same time.

Price wise, there's not a big difference.

I beleave there's an all singing and dancing special edition of Dirty Harry coming out on R2 in January.


Personally the first films the only one worth buying. The sequels get worse as they go along with the Dead Pool being a really sorry excuse for a film.

The "excuse" for <I>The Dead Pool</I> was that it effectively helped fund the likes of <I>Bird</I>, a far superior film but a much riskier commercial proposition - I think Clint Eastwood had a deal with Warner Bros whereby he'd do a guaranteed crowd-pleaser in exchange for the freedom to do more personal work.

Ironically enough, though, the "personal" <I>Unforgiven</I> ended up outgrossing the "commercial" <I>The Rookie</I>...
