My brother got a letter out of the blue from tns-global.com surveys.

It's all about him helping them with a survey on what you eat for lunch.

He's asked to text a number with his address details.. then every day, he texts a code for what he bought for lunch and where he bought it. They sent a big list.
things like texting:
GRGS PASTI for a greggs pastie
TESC 501545131545 for a barcode for a sandwich bought at Tesco etc etc..

it says all TXTs are charged at standard text rate for your network, and for each texted info he sends they'll pay him £1. When he's £10 in credit they'll send a tenner through the post.

Is this a con? Seems a bit wierd.
The letter seems to have been printed on a (not very good) colour inkjet too.

Anyone else had this? Anyone participated?

I received this letter too, don't think I'll bother with it myself.

Sounds like utter ******** to me, and in the wrong forum...

Pardon me. But it was in the general forum cos it's about something that came through the post, not about shopping & suppliers, and I was asking if anyone else received one.

'on a power trip' indeed.

hey philatio, but didn't you post this in the bargain forum as that is where I spotted it and also that is where the original title is still based!!

Yes, you posted it in the bargain forum, and therefore you shouldn't be surprised that it was moved! Like IC, it looks utter ******** to me too...

I got this letter and sent my registration text last night but am still waiting for their reply to confirm my details.

When I get this and i have to start texting the codes I'm just going to send the same one every day which will imply that I have bought a Subway sandwich for £4.

They can't prove i have or haven't bought one, I'll wait and see if I get the first £10, if I don't I'll stop. I get plenty of free texts each month so if it works out it really will be money for nothing.

My wife stated on the trial of this exact program about 3 months ago. She receives a £10 High Street Voucher every month, now matter how many texts she sends. She sends maybe about 5-6 a month, and has always received the voucher.

I take part in their Film surveys - I get £10 every 2 months for answering a few survey questions every fortnight.

£10 is not much money granted, but for the effort involved, it's a nice little bonus to get through the post.

where part of this, but we use a "palm scanner" to scan our shopping, what we buy, where we buy, who buys, how much.. (from a folder full of barcodes) so not a con
