Pictures only saved as .BMP?

This is the age old problem of IE saving all pictures as .bmp no other format is in the dropdown list.

How do I fix this?

This has had 1000's of threads on this over the years, yet searching doesnt come up with one.

In IE - Tools - Internet Option - General Tab - Temporary Internet Files - Delete Files. Whilst you are there you may as well hit the Clear History, then hit the Settings button and View Files, in the resulting window. Select all the files by pressing Ctrl and A and press delete. Close your browser and restart it to take effect.

Also reduce your temp internet files to say 10mb to stop this happening again and to stop it taking many minutes to clear you cache!
