Am after a new telly after my old 21inch went bang this afternoon, have got upto £300 pound to spend - but i havent bourght a new telly....ever (this one was second hand).
Would it be possible to get
24inch Widescreen (dont *think* i want another standard telly as all i do is watch DVD's on it most of the time)
2 X RGB Scart (very important cos want to use DVD RegaionX for my PS2, and might add a vhs at some point)
NTSC Compatible (so i can play R1 DVD's)
Nicam stereo (not too important as I have a set of speakes would just be nicer when vewing normal telly...rather than watching DVD's)
S-VHS (for use with a possible camcorder....not important as will probably get a digital one and use video out on my computers graphics card)
All for £300, I dont mind getting a reconditionend one if it meant I would be getting better features (possibly flat screen or 28inch).
Advise me please.
Thanks
Dan
EDIT - Added NTSC

Firslty, I don't know you made a typo, but you don't need an RGB scart for a VHS. The best video signal a normal VHS can output is Composite, so a standard Scart will do (S-VHS players do S-video obviously, and I think D-VHS players can output RGB, but a normal VHS will only do composite).
Anyways, hows about;
Philips 24PW6005 widescreen £288.97 at www.unbeatable.co.uk ?
If you're willing to go a little bit higher you can get this year's model, and it's 28" ; Philips 28PW6006 for £319.96.
Nice TVs. No dedicated S-video socket, but they'll take S-video signals through Scart2. Only 1 RGB scart though (but see note above about VHS player. Do you need 2 RGBs?). Great picture though. NTSC compatible and Nicam too.
Could be worth looking for some second hand bargains. Not sure where to get them though. Radio Rentals/Box Clever reconditioned sets tend to be not much cheaper (or even more expensive) than you can get them for from specialist or online retailers.
Cheers,
John

The JVC looks like it will fit your bill. Avaailable for £326 delivered from www.storeplus.co.uk BUT if you sign up for a FREE fully hosted storeplus store, you could qualify to receive a decent discount on anything you buy from your 'own' store. The JVC, bought this way, could be had for as little as approx £295 delivered. Seems a good deal to me (and the whole process only takes 10 mins). Here's the (rather good?) spec:
