Well, this one was a blind buy, only really bought it cos I remembered seeing a good trailer for it at the cinema over the summer and of course because it stars Jean Reno (Leon)

A lot of you might avoid it because it's a french film...but don't, it's a very clever thriller, much better than the majority of BS hollywood churns out, although it did appear to have a kind of holywood feel about it.

Only one disappointment, it's dubbed in english and french, it appears as though it was actually filmed in english because the words line up well with the mouths at the beginning, but it seems as though they re-recorded a lot of the dialogue, as the film moves on the lip sync is very out. I could be completely wrong and it was filmed in french, therefore ignore that last bit.

Anyway, either rent this or buy it, very good and kept me guessing throughout.

I saw this at the cinema and have the 2 disc DVD on order from play. It was filmed in French as the version I saw at the cinema was subtitled, also it stars Vincent Cassell and Jean Reno (both French actors). I thought this film was quality and I prefered it to Se7en!!

A fun movie indeed, if somewhat confusing at times (to say the least :) ).

The French DVD package is great with a 1 hour documentary involving the director, Cassel, Reno, Jean-Pierre Grange (author of the book on which this is based) and other production people which explains a lot about the making of the movie but also gives more explanations on the plot and how parts of the script were rewritten daily because of some unforeseen changes they had had to make in one of the earliest scenes.

The book ending (read it after seeing the movie) is, IMO, more "satisfying" but I certainly enjoyed the movie in its own right.

An almighty cock-up on the R1 version in that the French commentary track is NOT subtitled. Hope they have the wherewithall to ensure it’s done correctly on the R2.
