View Full Version : 100hz or 50hz?
What would you buy?
(Pity I've already made my mind up on a 100 hz set but never the less I'm interested)

I've got a 100hz Sony and I am very happy with it.

Thats exactly what I wanted to hear, I needed some reassurance because of some scum bag sales person who tried to tell me how bad all 100 hz sets were and never to touch one.
So obviously I went straight out and bought one,
Cheers
LOL - thats probably a good rule of thumb, get the opposite of what a Currys/Dixons etc salesperson suggests!
i have a Panasonic 100hz set and i've got no complaints whatsoever.
dave.
Still a valid question to have been asked I think, with a set budget would you go for the tried & tested 50hz or one of the older generation 100hz, only ask as i read a few disgruntled comments in the past, bemoaning the smearing effect some of these earlier 100hz TVs suffered from? :)

I had one of the first generation Philips widescreen tv's with 100HZ and it was awful which is why I got the Sony 36FS70 and you wouldn't know it was using 100HZ with it stable and brilliant picture.
But in the reviews they still say that Philips still have a smearing affect with the picture.
It depends on which make you go for. Sony seem to be the best at the moment with their new processing system.

Nice one Bubby - I'm just the same - always do the opposite of what I'm told to do.
;)
I have 50 and 100 Hz (sony WS 32"). I never seen this smearing people mention. It strange though if I switch from 100Hz to 50 Hz I see distinct flickering at 50 Hz. I never noticed 50 Hz flicker on the old telly. Maybe they put the flicker in to make you feel better.
:p
anyone no if the thos 32zd09 is any good??
