View Full Version : Final Fantasy
Basicaly - which region is best 1 or 4? - Or should I wait for the R2 release?
Don't know about the R4 disk, but the R1 is superb, although watch out for the RCE. It's a must for anyone interested in the animation process.

By the looks of it, R2 will only be one disc, with most of the features chopped off (according to Play247 anyway). R4 has the same content as R1, but has a holographic case and is PAL (ie. +100 lines if you care), so basically it's the best of the bunch.
And the R4 works out to be £12 from devoted.com.au

does this come in a cardboard box or something else?
devoted say 'For International shipping this can not be shipped in a Plain Envelope, Must choose Either Padded or Tough Bag. '
Don't know if the sleeve is cardboard, all I know is it is holographic. Maybe it might be something like the recent Halloween R2 release. Anyway even with the $5.00 padded bag option it still works out at £12.50 or so.

I always try to find out details of a disc elsewhere, and check which region is better, before I order from Play. They aren't the most reliable source of information when it comes to Extra Features details on DVD's and often miss out some of the content of a disc in their listings!
I'm in no hurry for Final Fantasy - there are plenty of other DVD's out there that I want before this - so I'm going to wait for the R2.
I've got a feeling that it will be identical to the R1 & R4 versions, as this seems to be such a big DVD release, in terms of extra's at least, and another major reference quality disc.
I'd be very surprised if they cut it down to a single disc over here!

True enough, but the main feature of the missing Shrek disc is a Pan & Scan transfer!
No great loss there.
