View Full Version : R1 from Amazon.fr?!
Maybe this should be in the supplier forum but I've just noticed that Amazon.fr are selling loads of R1 DVD's? Is this old news or are the rules different over there?
Deaks.

Amazon.fr only sell those R1 discs which are not available on French R2 discs. So anything thats released on French R2 they will not sell on R1.

I think they've been doing this for a while.
Of course Amzon.co.uk couldn't do it due to it being a criminal offence -Doesn't stop them doing the personal import service so you never know...
Amazon.com have been selling 2nd hand stuff too and I guess they'll try anything to make money.

I think a few stores did but the French authorities had been clamping down on them.
When I was in Paris at the end of September, I visited both FNAC and Virgin Megastore at Champs Elysées. Both shops had a huge selection of R1 (and R2 of course). We walked there for hours and hours, thinking we were in DVD-heaven.
You can also buy R1 from www.fnac.fr. They have recently increased their assortment with 6000 R1.

They're very expensive if you get them through Amazon.fr I think. Better to go with Play247.
