Transferring songs from an iPod to my PC and preserving directory structure?

Just did a format and reinstall on my PC and thought my songs were safely backed up on my iPod. Everything's not sorted on the PC and I've just come to transfer the songs back but iTunes seems unable to do it.

I've also got ephPod and that looks like it will do it but not with the file structure of Artist/Album/song.mp3.

Any suggestions?

When you've transferred it with ephPod, then add them to your iTunes Library,

then you'll have the same structure you're used to in iTunes.

EphPod isn't really having it, it keeps crashing. Is there anything else I could use?

Is there a way to copy the files across just using an explorer window?
