In The Mood For Love - which version?

In considering buying this and I'm not sure which version to get - I've read bad things about the Tartan release and good things about the French release, but then there's a suggestion that the 2 Disc Tartan release is exactly the same as the French version (ignoring the packaging).

I've just seen a review over at Asian DVD Guide (http://pub5.ezboard.com/fhongkongdvdsreviews.showMessageRange?topicID=920.topic&start=21&stop=30) which seems to confirm that the Tartan release inexplicably only has a Dolby Digital 2.0 soundtrack, while the French edition has a 5.1 soundtrack. Don't know if that's important.
