Hi,

I'm setting up a wireless network for a friend and am having trouble.

The network is there, and my wireless card gets a connection, but just as it gets an IP address it loses the connection. This repeats on and on and on..

My signal strength is as good as 100%, as is the link quality.

However, my noise level seems quite high. I'm wondering if this might be the problem (there is quite a bit of "industrial" equipment around, e.g. large freezers, air con, compressors etc.)

The other clue is that I can only get a signal in the first place if I use either channel 1, 2 or 3. Anything above that doesn't give anything! I've never seen that happen before...

Any suggestions please?

Cheers,
Andy

Sorry, should've thought!

Dreytek 2600G ADSL Router

"Dabs Value" Edimax 11g PCMCIA NIC

I've hard coded everything to 11g at the moment, although I've tried dropping all the way down to hard coded 1Mbps 11b.

Latest drivers. One off latest firmware on Dreytek, but I can't see any fixes relating to wireless that should affect this.

I'm using WPA for security, all that is configured and working. XP is on Service Pack 2.

Anything else useful?
