View Full Version : TV Cartoons
I was wondering if anyone knows if any of these cartoons are or have been released:
City of gold (I think that was the title)
ThunderCats
Ulyesis (I think thats how you spell it)
X-MEN series
and cartoons shown during the late 80's
Ghost Dog

city of gold has been released in France but is French language only. There are some X-Men DVDS availbale in the UK and the US, but only for selected episodes not the full series.
As for the rest, not yet!

Don't quote me, but isn't City Of Gold avaliable as official VCD's (about 30 of them) from some asian country?
City of gold & Ulysis Who owns the rights to these titles?

This definetely City of Gold, or is it Mysterious Cities of Gold?
If it's MCOG, afraid it looks unlikely a release will happen any time soon

I've seen an X-Men 5-episode DVD covering the Phoenix Saga in a few shops. I don't know if any of the others have planned releases.
And the actual series titles are:
City of gold = Mysterious Cities Of Gold
Ulyesis = Ulysses 31

As for Ulysses 31, i think it was released in france (with a french sound track only :( ).
What happened at the end of cities of gold, i can't remember seeing it finish?
Here's what the Ulysses 31 Volume 1 DVD looks like:

I'm not sure if its just a French Audio track though.
More info can be found here perso.wanadoo.fr/simonin/Ulysse31/ (http://perso.wanadoo.fr/simonin/Ulysse31/) - then click on the DVD & Video link on the nav.
I would put more info but my French isn't that good, c'est la vie :(

Ulysees only mentions a french dd2.0 audio track from what I could get from the French.
http://perso.wanadoo.fr/simonin/Ulysse31/08-video/dvd01/jaquette.jpg Wow! this looks so sweet!!! But i feel that the only way that we are going to get a release in this country is that if we show the distributors that it's worth there while. If they see that we are interested in buying the disc then they well release them. So why don't we get a campaign going?? It's been a long while since we had a good one of those!!

Both MCOG and U31 are availanble only as French language only. :(
There are no official VCDs of either series (only good "unofficial" ones) - although ep 18 (where they first fly in the Golden Condor) does appear in VCD format on the french MCOG soundtrack.
There have been many emails (from the mcog and u31 mailing lists) to the owners of MCOG and U31 for an English track, but every response has been negative.
Maybe one day.....
