while i am waiting for the delivery of my new TV i thought i would set up my dvd player in my room with my small 14" screen.
However, when I play DVD's the picture keeps changing from a really bright picture to a really dark picture!! It swaps every 2 seconds!! I have tried using video cables as well as scart but it does the same thing!
Does anyone have any ideas why it is doing this and how the problem can be fixed?
cheers

Macrovision?
Are you connecting the DVD thru the video?

who how where?
my tv is a TV/VCR combi and i plugged my DVD straight in the back. Could the video be causing some problems?

Get your player chipped to disable the macrovision.

It's copy protection put into the DVD player's system to stop you taping them.
I doubt you could disable the video in an integral TV/VCR system.

Assuming your new tv will not be a 14" tv/vcr i wouldn't worry about it.You will be able to connect it properly,ie not through the video.
I might be wrong (probably am), but aren't Ringo's doing a scart lead that removes the macrovision signal.

i'll just wait for my new tv, no worries, just the dvd player will be out of action for a while :(
You could try setting the DVD player to RGB output if your TV can accept that.

If you're lucky (or unlucky) enough to own a Samsung 709/909 or one of its clones (Thompson 3300), you can disable Macrovision via the remote...
Some other players (LG I think?) can do the same.
