I'm looking to buy a new 28" widescreen TV and have a question regarding the sound system.

Is it best to buy a TV with built in Pro Logic or Dolby Virtual Pro Logic or is it better to buy a Nicam TV and add a separate amplifier and speakers later?

If anyone can recommend the models I should consider for around £600 this would very useful.

i would buy a TV then add amps and speakers.

with my setup, the 28" widescreen TV cost £350, the amp £150 and the speakers £150 but it depends whether you have got the space, and whether you care that much about the sound quality. My equipment is 5.1 Dolby Digital and DTS which is much better than pro logic

I'm with TimJBart on this one.

When i first bought my DVD player i also spent £1000 on a Toshiba 28" WS with built in Dolby 5.1.

While the sound was ok, when compared to my current setup of seperates it just doesn't cut the mustard AT ALL !!!!

I'd advise getting a good Nicam Widescreen TV and spending the left overs (and as much as you can spare on top) on a bonified home cinema system.

I hope you live in a detached house like me !!! :)
