I've got a sony HT-K215 surround sound system which is compact, but produces excellent sound. Dts & 5.1 as well as sony cinema sound. It cost me £320 last Feb so you can proberly pick it up for less now.

You would be better off getting a Sony receiver & a speaker package from a specialist speaker manufacturer, Sony don't have any dedicated home cinema speakers in their product range, the ones provided in the HTK units can be greatly improved on, for very little extra.
Mission do a selection of different priced speaker packages to suit various budgets & come highly recommended. This is the way I would go, The HTK units are a compromise I wouldn't be prepared to make if I had spent about £2000 already on hardware.

Oh! Thanks for asking for my advice, friend.

I think what ragnar is saying is Sony make good TV's and receivers, but forget getting their speakers as they aren't much cop compared to offerings by dedicated speaker makers like Mission and Tannoy.

If that is what he said, then I would agree 100% :)

That is what it is supposed to be saying, having re-read my first post, I relise that I must learn how to get my point across in a way that can actually be understood.

ragnar makes mental note to learn about sentence composition. :D
