Quality of mpeg decoding between Sky boxes...

My Grundig digibox is slowly packing up, so I've been trawling Ebay for a replacement. My question is are any of the boxes better or worse than others at decoding the Mpeg Sky signal? Red's on my Grundig always used to appear quite jagged and brash and wondered if this was a trait of the signal or the decoding.
