Appreciate any input on this problem. A couple of days ago the mouse pointer started misbehaving.Mouse movements woud be met with the pointer lurching across the screen or freezing totally. I decided a reformat was due anyway and this just hurried it along a little. Long story to shreds, after 3 re-formats (not a reinstall of windows over the existing os) i have finally got a clean install- XP Pro, sp1 ntfs - and the mouse is still misbehaving.The computer is freezing and programs are non responsive. No rhyme or reason to this, it can be any program that suffers. Using the generic xp mouse driver as i installed one from the manufacturer and the system totally died on me, ended up it wouldn't even boot in safe mode. Any thoughs on the stability issues of either the mouse pointer or the os ? - i ran chkdsk and that froze as well the first time. :shrug:
