Was thinking of getting this in HMV's BOGOF sale but can anyone tell me whether it's anamorphic before I do since the packaging doesn't say

What zone are you looking at? I have a region 2 copy and its actually quite nice anamorphic transfer. Sound is ok.
Jim
ADDED LATER: Opps, should also mention that my copy is a norwegian release from egmont. So i guess this doesnt help :-)
This was on tv in the last few days but my recording stopped at the point when kevin bacon's body was being dragged along the surface of the water by the rangers.
Did I miss a spectacular ending?
Could you tell me in spoilers what happened from there to the credits?
Thanks

It's been a while since I've seen it, but I think the Dad shoots and kills Bacon in the end?
Classic film. Bacon is EVIL!

Marts62: that's just about all there is to the ending - nothing missed of the plot. Quite a nice little adventure film - Curtis Hanson can really put those things together.
Thanks... so I didn't miss anything, or did what you describe form part of a shock ending a la Fatal Attraction?
Thanks. Yes surprisingly enjoyable. Meryl and Kevin were excellent.
Close but I watched this for the second time when it was on tv the other day (I just couldnt stop watching!) and in the end....
The dad attempts to drown Bacon's character while the mum (still tied to the raft) stretches to get Bacon's fallen gun. Bacon gives the Dad a swift shot in the nuts and John C. Reilly's character pulls a knife on him.
Streep has got the gun, checks how many bullets are left and holds the two criminals at gun point in the water.
She attempts to fire (whilst Bacon tells her she isnt capable of killing) and their is no bullet. Smug Bacon states he thought their was a bullet in the barrell too.
But Streep knew their was one bullet left, lines up the one remaining bullet and shoots Bacon- WOOO! Final bullet, one perfect shot.
John C. Reilly's character just gives up at this point and we see Bacon half dead clinging onto a rock, trying to keep hold of his bounty. He dies and the current takes both him and his money. The End.
Hope I remember it right, it always seems to be on pretty late
Thanks The Dot... I didn't miss anything then. They missed a trick then and could've had a Fatal Attraction ending with Bacon coming back to life, grasping the gun, then the dad whacking him one final one.
... or would that be too cliché these days. ;)
I was no where near then. Still a classic.
