My new Ruark Log Rhythm sub is supposed to automatically detect when the amp has turned off, and then turn itself off 9 minutes later. But it doesnt.

Any ideas why? I assume i should just leave the sub on peromantly, and its a hasslre to go to the back of it each time i've finished with it and turn it off.

What do you mean by "Off". _My_ Log rhythm goes into "Standby" a few minutes after it stops detecting any input. The green LED on the front turns to Red. There is no mention in the manual of it turning off automatically.

Does yours not go into standby automatically?

Sorry should have made myself clear - no it doesnt go into standby mode - ie the green light stays greeen, and doesnt turn to red.

Does tend to suggest that something is wrong. You could try disconnecting the audio connectors to see if it then goes into standby. If it does then that would suggest that your amp is still sending a small signal which is making the sub stay awake (Not sure what you could do about that apart from buy a new amp!) If the sub still won't go into standby then it seems that it is faulty and I'd contact the retailer.

Might be obvious but make sure the very small slider switch situated between the phase and mode button is switched to standby-on. As a matter of interest mine wasnt. You might need a small screwdriver to move the switch.
